Our families used to take Mexicana Airlines down to Puerto Vallarta every year in the 1990's. I remember a flight in 1997 or 1998 and I smelled what was like an electrical fire smoke the entire flight. It was a heavy smell and made me nauseous. I told others on my flight about it but they couldn't smell what I could. (I was younger and to this day I believe they were trying to make not think about it). There was never an emergency or announcement made during the flight.
As we neared the Mexican airport, you could see fire trucks racing along the runway to meet us. I instantly new then. Once landed, we were surrounded by fire personal on the runway. The Pilots acknowledged a small on board electrical fire flight once we landed.
